OMA  A.  DILL

Oma Arline Dill, 92, of the St. Vincent's Home, Quincy, formerly of Durham, Missouri, went to be with the Lord at 9:55 p.m. Friday (January 9, 2015) in Blessing Hospital.

Born September 20, 1922 on the family farm in Marion County, Missouri, Oma was the daughter of Thomas W. and Nellie V. Hadfield Smyser. Following her mother's death when Oma was just five weeks old, she was lovingly raised by her grandparents, James and Mary Hadfield.  She married Bernard Wayne Dill on December 12, 1941 in Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1995.

Oma was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ewing, Missouri. She enjoyed cooking, canning, embroidery and working in her garden, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.

Oma was born and raised on the family farm in Marion County. She made many friends and was a good neighbor to all.

Survivors include as son, Donald Dewayne Dill (Jackie) of Quincy; two grandchildren, Katie LeAnn Brown (Ben) and Andrew Wayne Dill both of Quincy; a great grandson, Luke Edward Brown; two brothers, Gordon Smyser (Sherrill) of Maywood, MO and Randall Smyser (Norma) of Palmyra, MO; two sisters, Bonnie Glendinning of Palmyra, MO and Sue Hoener (Bud) of Palmyra, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Kenneth Smyser; and two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Nadine Robbins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Dewayne Larenson.  Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery, Durham, Missouri.

Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Durham Cemetery Association.
