  Jimmy D. Parks, 76, of Taylor, Missouri died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday (June 16, 2015) in Lewis County Nursing Home.

   Jimmy was born January 30, 1939 in New Market, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Parks and Minnie Crawford Parks Phipps.  He married Norma Stockdale Clapp on March 4, 1995 in Canton, Missouri and she preceded him in death on October 3, 2007.  

   Jimmy attended Keokuk High School and Madison Park Christian Church. He was member of the Union Local No. 655 UFCW. He enjoyed  fishing, mushroom hunting, and picnicking, shooting his bow and arrow, playing basketball with his grandchildren, and playing cards and joking with his friends.  Jimmy was a great cook especially liked making his homemade noodles for the holidays.  He liked going to Branson and would sing gospel and country music to his family all the way there.  He loved recording himself and dreamed of going to Nashville to make it "Big!" Jimmy and his wife Norma were inseparable and he took delight in playing his guitar and singing to her. They took pleasure in going out to eat catfish and for car rides just to look at the country side.  

   Jimmy  served his country in the Navy. He worked a variety of jobs  and at Krogers Grocery in Hannibal for several years until his retirement

   Mr. Parks is survived by two daughters, Deanna Keener (Darrell) of Republic, MO and  Shelia Parks of Yulee, FL; two step-daughters  Paula Bowness (Roger) of Maywood, MO and Pam Cobern (Craig) of Kellerville, IL; a step son, Terry Clapp (Angela) of Camp Point, IL; several grandchildren; a brother, Robert Parks of Long Beach, CA; a brother-in-law, James "Sonny" Lovell of Keokuk, IA; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends
   Jimmy was preceded in death by  his parents; his wife Norma; two sisters, Zela Hutchinson and Phyllis Lovell.  

   Funeral Services will be Friday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Sackett officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Madison Park Christian Church.
