EMILY M. DISSELER

Emily M. Disseler, 87, of Quincy, died at 4:08 a.m. Saturday (July 18, 2015) at the Good Samaritan Home

   Born May 20, 1928 in Quincy, Emily was the daughter of Ralph and Margaret McCarthy Bryant. On July 11, 1959 Emily married Donald A. Disseler in Quincy and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1977.  

   Emily loved to cook, tend to her rose bushes, read, spend time with her cat Zoey and play crosswords and crypto games.  She was an avid Cub fan and enjoyed watching the Cub games.  Emily was very family oriented. She loved caring for Ann's kids and looked forward to family dinners.  She took pleasure in driving around, shopping and fixing up her house and decorating it.

   Emily was first employed at Packaging Corporation in Quincy for several years and later at Sheller-Globe for several years until her retirement.  

   Survivors include her aunt; Ann Winfield of Quincy; a god-son, David Winfield (Teresa) of Colorado; four god-daughters, Linda Bennett and Bonnie Cleesen both of Quincy, Joyce Egbers (Ed) of Des Moines, IA and Kimberly Kesterke (Darren) of Dallas, IL; ten god-grandchildren, Daniel Bennett, Theresa Ferguson (Rod), Troy Cleesen, Steve Cleesen and Angie Cleesen all of Quincy, Kariann Seltzer of Dallas City, Mike Egbers (Jordann) of Ankeny, IA, Neil Winfield of Quincy, Cathy Smith (Blake) of Altoona, IA and Christina Gray (Tom) of Ft.Stewart, GA; several great- god children and a half brother, Robert Bryant of Maryland.  

  Mrs. Disseler was preceded in death by her parents; her husband  Donald; and two half brothers, Richard and Jerry Bryant

   Funeral Services will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.  

   Visitation will be held Wednesday morning at  10:00 until the time of services at 11:00 at the funeral home.  

   Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society or to the Quincy Senior Center.
