Kimberly A. "Kim" LaTour, 46, of Quincy, died at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday (July 22, 2015) at her home in Quincy.

Born August 23, 1968 in Quincy, Kim was the daughter of John and Linda Harness LaTour.

A 1986 graduate of Quincy High School, Kim earned her L.P.N. certificate in 1988 at John Wood Community College.  She loved caring for others and had been employed at St. Mary Hospital, Good Samaritan Home, Blessing Hospital, Sunset Home and for Dr. Ali. She was last employed at Sycamore Health Care Center, retiring in 2011 due to her health.

Kim was a voracious reader and enjoyed scrapbooking and being outdoors, spending many hours boating on the river when she was younger. She was an animal lover who loved caring for her own pets, but she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.  Kim will be remembered for her positive outlook on life and admired for the way she handled the challenges of her life.

Survivors include her parents, John and Linda LaTour of Quincy; a brother, Bill LaTour (Cindy) of Quincy; four nieces and nephews, Rhea Duschinsky of Los Angeles, CA, Tony Duschinsky (Ashley) of Ft. Smith, AR, Amber Apps (Chris) of Pittsfield, IL and Tyler Duschinsky (Heather) of Quincy; a very close friend since childhood, Susie Keller of Quincy; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kim was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clair and Mildred LaTour; maternal grandparents, Bill and Marilyn Harness; and an aunt, Fran Platt.

The family will meet with friends to celebrate Kim's life on Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, 1435 State Street, Quincy, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
