   Montgomery Dodd, 81, of Quincy, died at 12:25 p.m. Monday (August 3, 2015) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born November 20, 1933 in Quincy, Montgomery was the son of Walter and Virginia McNeal Dodd.  Montgomery married Lela J. Stockhecke in October of 1956 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2013.

   Montgomery was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.  He was an avid Cardinal Fan and enjoyed traveling and doing puzzles.  Mr. Dodd served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  

   Mr. Dodd was the owner and operator of Quincy Air Cargo for several years and later drove for Trailways Bus Company until his retirement.  
   Survivors include his son, Dennis Dodd of Redwood City, CA; two daughters, Mona Fischer (Dennis) and Lori Klauser, both of Quincy; Five grandchildren, Eric Fischer (Stacy) of Quincy, Erin Fischer of Quincy, Eben Fischer of Long Beach, CA, Angela Klauser of Quincy and SGT Jason Klauser (Kamijo) of Ft. Riley, KS; six great grandchildren, Austin Fischer, Abigail Fischer, Arianna Fischer, Coby Klauser, Zoey Klauser and Kainalu Klauser; a brother, Walter Dodd Jr of Quincy; two sisters, Patricia Sheffler of Moline, IL and Beverly Schuette of Quincy; a long time family friend Lavon Wilson; and many loving nieces and nephews.    

   Montgomery was preceded in death by his wife, Lela; his parents; his step mother, Ruth Myers Dodd; and a nephew, Alan Dodd.  

   Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:30 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Eden officiating.  Burial with military honors by the Scott Air Force Base Honor Guard will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

   Visitation will be Monday morning  from 10:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

So very sorry to hear about your Dad. I will always remember Monte's smile and laughter. Wish I could be with you all but distance prevents.
