EUGENE A. MILLER

   Eugene A. Miller, 86, of Payson, died at 3:40 p.m. Friday (August 28, 2015) at the Illinois Veteran's Home.

   Born December 14, 1928, in Quincy, Eugene was the son of Lacey A. Miller and Hazel L. Roan Sepich.

   Eugene enjoyed woodworking and camping and especially loved to paint and compose poems.  He also served his country in the Army during World War II.  

   Eugene worked as a carpenter for many years until his retirement in 1991 and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 189.

   Mr. Miller is survived by three sons, Dennis Miller (Dawn) of Camp Point, IL, Rodney Miller (Carla) of Plainville, IL and Tim Miller (Nancy) of Fowler, IL; two daughters, Rebecca Miller of Quincy, IL and Jan DeWeese (Richard) of Liberty, IL; eleven grandchildren Drew Miller of Quincy, Kari Muskopf (Kyle) of Millstadt, IL, Shawna Webster (Travis) of Quincy, Calleen Kamphaus (Bryan) of Plainville, IL, Christopher Miller (Sheryl) of Perry, IL, Cheyenne DeWeese of Liberty, IL, Brooke Banta (Nick) of Quincy, Mitchell Miller (Frank) of Chicago, IL, Meagan Griggs (Walter) of Quincy, Jordan Morris (Alexis) of Quincy, Aneta Peters (Dean) of Quincy; eight great grandchildren Amelia Muskopf, Talan Webster, Taylor Webster, Crichette Peters, Darin Peters, Mackenzie Griggs, Jakob Griggs and Sean Griggs all of Quincy; also surviving are three great great grandchildren Paxton Gower, Thalia Peters and Taylin Peters.

   Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marilyn Reed and Constance Beadle.

   Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning 11:00 a.m. in the Payson New Cemetery with Tim Miller officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Payson VFW Post 2061 and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Detail.  

   Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.
  
   Memorials may be made to the Great River Honor Flight.
