   John H. Bestman, 86, of Quincy, died at 8:42 p.m. Friday (October 2, 2015) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born March 31, 1929 in Palmyra, Missouri, John was the son of John Henry and Lena Frohn Bestman.  He married Helen "Lum" Fast on November 10, 1961 in Payson, Illinois.  She survives.

   An avid sportsman, John enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, watching football and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

   A graduate of Palmyra High School, John worked with his father wall papering and plumbing until he began his career at Moorman Manufacturing. He retired from the Safety Department after many years.

   Survivors include his wife, Helen "Lum"; a sister, Marjorie Kuntemeyer of Monroe City, MO; a brother, Don Bestman (Charlotte) of The Villages, FL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   John was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ann Denish; and a brother, Horace Bestman.

   Cremation has been accorded to John.  Private inurnment will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

   Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home.
