   Lester T. Unglaub, 86, of Quincy, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday (October 16, 2015) in St. Vincent's Home.

   Born in 1928 in Quincy, Mr. Unglaub was the son of John F. and Elsie M. Brown Unglaub.  He married Phyllis S. Sherman on March 28, 1951 in Quincy.  She survives.

   Mr. Unglaub served his country as a Corporal in the U. S. Army 24th Infantry Division, 3rd Engineer Combat Battalion during the Korean War.

   Lester was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was active with the Men's Choir and Senior Choir and served on the Board of Elders, Church Council and maintained the Church Pipe Organ for 25 years from 1975 to 2000. He was also a member of the Lutheran Laymens League.

   Mr. Unglaub was employed by Walter Chatten Implement Company for 11 years and for Gardner Denver Company for 34 years. He retired in 1989.

   Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Phyllis; a son, Charles; a granddaughter, Michelle Sparks; two great grandchildren, Kylle Sparks and Garion Sutton; a sister in law, Genevieve Unglaub of Phoenix, AZ; three nieces; and two nephews.

   Mr. Unglaub was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Orville Unglaub in infancy, Frederick Unglaub and Chester Unglaub.

   Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Marlin Rempfer.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church.
