NORMA WOLKITT

   Norma Wolkitt, 85, of Quincy, died at 7:23 a.m. Monday (November 16, 2015) in her home.

   Born March 4, 1930 in Quincy, Norma was the daughter of Ralph and Louise Hauser Hagar.  She married Charles P. Wolkitt on May 14, 1949 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing, Missouri. He survives.

   Norma was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, the Quincy Business Women's Club and the Adams County Democratic Women.  An avid bowler, Norma was also active for over 25 years with the Quincy Bowling Board Association. She also enjoyed sewing and needlework and volunteering at St. Mary Hospital for many years. Norma was devoted to her family and loved going fishing and camping with her husband and attending the many activities of her children and grandchildren.

   Norma owned and operated Norma's Beauty Shop at 1239 South 19th from 1956 until her retirement on December 31, 2013.

   Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Charles; two daughters, Paula Bowen (Michael) of Quincy and Sheila Hodges (David) of Plymouth, MN; a son, Rodney Wolkitt (Jo Ann) of Quincy; six grandchildren, Joseph Wolkitt (Tonya), Danielle Wolkitt (Frank Mullet), Amy Jonsson (Greg), Tod Bowen (Nikki), Tara Rossato (Gus) and Robin Rea; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Wanda Stock of Morehead City, NC and Teri Foust of Broomfield, CO; two sisters in law, Elaine Wolkitt of Quincy and Mary Kaye Hagar of Dubuque, IA; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Wolkitt; a brother, Ralph "Bub" Hagar Jr.; and a sister in infancy, Carlene Hagar.

   Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Monsignor Michael Kuse.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.  A Parish Prayer Service will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30      at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

So sorry to hear of Normas passing. I always enjoyed visiting with her. She was a very nice lady. Prayers go out to all of her family.
