William A. Epping (Bill), 59, of Quincy, died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday (January 14, 2016) at his residence.

  Born May 13, 1956 in Quincy, William was the son of Richard and Phyllis Shaw Epping.  He married Marcia K. Hinkle on April 18, 1986 in Quincy.  She survives.

  William enjoyed deer hunting, feeding the ducks and geese in the bay, and bird watching, especially the eagles. He also loved watching western movies.  

   He was a self-employed roofer and painter. Bill later worked in maintenance at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis retiring in 2009.  

   Survivors include his parents, Richard and Phyllis Epping of Payson ,IL; a daughter, Michelle Epping of Quincy; two sons, Richard W. Kurtz (fiancee Carly) of Mendon, IL and Damion Epping (Tammy) of Payson, IL; five grandchildren, Krissie Epping of Quincy, La'Tavia Kurtz of Quincy, La'Shiah Kurtz of Quincy, Kaderiaun Minor of Hannibal, MO, and Addyson Kurtz of Mendon, IL; six brothers, Richard Epping (Lisa) of Fowler, IL, Ron Epping (Teresa) of Quincy, Steve Epping of Payson, IL, Terry Epping of Payson, IL, Chris Epping (Julie) of Winters, CA, and Mike Epping of Payson, IL; three sister, Brinda Crumley of Quincy, Jane Epping of Maquoketa, IA  and Nancy Epping of Hannibal, MO. Also survivng are many loving nieces and nephews.  

   Mr. Epping was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather,, Arthur Epping; paternal grandmothers, Grace and Nellie Epping; maternal grandparents, Chester and Lucille Shaw.  

   Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will at the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
