GERALDINE  COLLINS

   Geraldine Collins, 71, of Quincy, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday (April 2, 2016) in her home.

   Born May 20, 1944 in Pittsfield, Illinois, Geraldine was the daughter of Arthur "Zach" and Mildred D. Hanlin Phillips.  She married Stephen D. "Butch" Collins on December 28, 1959 in Pittsfield, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on December 4, 2006.

   Geraldine enjoyed cooking, going to the "boat" and telling jokes to her family and friends. She was devoted to her family and loved the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Geraldine was employed at Casey's General Store on North 24th for many years.

   Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Horton of  Quincy; three grandchildren, Stephen Strieker (Jenn) of Stansbury Park, UT, Joseph Strieker of Quincy and Sarah Thompson (Michael) of Quincy; six great grandchildren, Archer Harris, Timothy Harris, Joseph Harris, Hunter Cellier, Wyatt Cellier and Michael Strieker; two sisters, Mary Ann Ehrgott (Rex) and Breba Brawdy (Joe) both of Pittsfield, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen "Butch"; two sons, Phillip D. Collins and Cory J. Collins; a grandson, Zachary Lee Strieker; and a brother, Gary Phillips.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

   Visitaiton will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to family of Geraldine Collins.

Cindy we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. She was a wonderful woman!!!!! She always brought a smile to everyone she met.

So sorry for your loss.I worked with her at Caseys many years ago and you couldn't ask for a better woman.We had so many talks on how things were in life, work, family, etc. and she never was scared to voice her opinion. She was a woman with the biggest heart and wouldn't think twice to help you.... R.I.H. my friend
