NANCY S. LEWIS

   Nancy S. Lewis, 65, of Quincy died at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday (September 27, 2016) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born August 25, 1951, in Valparaiso, Indiana, Nancy was the daughter of Bernard and Genevieve Nichols Markley.  She married Freddie Lee Lewis on June 9, 1971, in Pittsfield.  He preceded her in death on February 29, 2012.

   Nancy was a member of the Rocky Point Club and enjoyed horses, bowling, puzzles and puzzle books.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and her family was everything to her.

   Nancy was employed as a CNA at Sycamore Healthcare, until her retirement.

   Survivors include a son, Scott Markley Sr of Quincy; two daughters, Darla Butler (David) of La Grange, MO and Debbie Gibson (Larry) of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Faith, Scott Jr (Kelsey), Kayla, Jordyn, Mikel, Alisha and April; three step grandchildren, David, Amanda and Adam; several great grandchildren, with a couple more on the way; two brothers, Patrick and Glenn Markley; one sister, Louella McDonald (Willie) of TN; two sisters in law, Cindy and Sally Markley both of IN; and several loving nieces, nephews and friends.

   Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Freddie; two brothers, Michael and Bernard Markley; and one sister, Evelyn Davis.

   Cremation has been accorded to Nancy.  A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

   Memorials may be made to the Nancy Lewis Memorial Fund.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Nancy when she worked at Good Samaritan Home she was a very fun loving person and always spoke of how much she loved her family.

I still cannot believe that she is gone. she was a caring and loving person. she is a great loss to the people who knew and loved her. she will be greatly missed.

Nancy was a great woman who had a heart of gold. I was so sad to hear of hewer passing. She will always be in my heart.
