JOHN N. KOEHLER

   John N. Koehler, 85, of Quincy died at 6:06 p.m. Sunday (October 2, 2016) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born November 13, 1930 in Springfield, Illinois, John was the son of John C. and Evelyn M. Witham Koehler. John was married to Melba Wyzard. On August 24, 1968 he married Betty Mae Ambrose Myers in Quincy.  She preceded him in death on May 11, 2009.

   John was a member of Union United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge No. 100 in Quincy. He served on the Board of Directors for Farmers Bank in Pittsfield for many years and was a member of the Adams County Board from 1994 until 2002.

   John was employed as an examiner for the Illinois Department of Banking, retiring in 1990. Following his retirement, he worked as a bank consultant until 2009.

   Survivors include a daughter in law, Darlene Koehler of Beecher City, IL; three step children, Rebecca Goerlich (Randy) of Tuscon, AZ, Dana Myers (Annie) of Quincy and Steven Myers (Julie) of Sunrise Beach, MO; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Katie Lou Frank (John) of New Berlin, IL; a sister in law, Nancy Koehler of Loami, IL; and a close friend, Lola.

   Mr. Koehler was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Steven Koehler and John Bradley Koehler; and a brother, Richard Koehler.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Tim Woodard.  Private burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church or the Shriner's Childrens Hospital.

My family and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. John will be remembered by many . Please never forget our heavenly father does love us and everything he has told us has and will come true especially regarding the hope of seeing our loved ones again , John 5:28,29 and at that time death and pain will be no more, Rev. 21:3,4 my family and I would like to give our deepest sympathy and condolences at this most difficult time.
