Steven Dean Loos, 59, of LaGrange, Missouri, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Thursday (October 20, 2016) near West Quincy, Missouri.

Born March 16, 1957 in Quincy, Steven was the son of Wilfred and Sharon Logsdon Loos. On June 12, 1982, Steven was married to Marty Wright and together they welcomed a daughter, Emily.  Steven was later married to Lorna Ippensen.

An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Steven was also a master carpenter who had a passion for woodworking. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, hunting for mushrooms, going antique hunting and especially liked having a good time out with his friends.  Steven found peace in being anywhere along the river or on an ol' gravel road.

Steven was employed in construction with multiple companies for many years.  Throughout those years, he also worked with long-time family friends, Tom and Josh Marx, with Marx Commercial Development. Since 2014 he was a driver for Merkel Roll Off Container in Palmyra, Missouri.

Survivors include his daughter, Emily Loos of Quincy; three grandchildren, Aubrey Loos, Adelyne Loos and Tatum Lerum; his son, Ashley Garnett and his children; a brother, Robert Shafer (Mindie) of Quincy; two sisters, Kathy Drew (Dan) of Sterling, IL and Karen Shafer of St. Paul, MN; a sister in law, Sandy Loos of St. Charles, IA; many loving nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Rhonda Hess of Quincy.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Mike Loos.

Cremation has been accorded to Steven. A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday evening (November 1, 2016) from 4:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

My heart aches for the terrible loss you have suffered. Although words are so inadequate they are all I can offer other than my prayers that Our Loving Lord and Savior Jesus holds you in His loving hands and gives you His peace.
Please know I am thinking of you and the girls and that I love all of you dearly.
