BARBARA J. GRIFFIN

   Barbara J. Griffin, 78, of Mendon, died at 2:37 a.m. Saturday (December 10, 2016) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born November 20, 1938, in Quincy, Barbara was the daughter of Marcellus and Helen Lucille Saylor Wand.  She married Ronald Wayne Griffin on September 7, 1957 in Quincy and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2010.

  Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Quincy High School and was a member of the South Side Boat Club and the Amvets Post 76 Club.  She enjoyed working in her yard, fishing, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

   Barbara had been employed at Quincy Maid Potato Chip for several years and was later employed at Denman Linen for over 10 years, retiring in 2008.

   Survivors include her son, Brad Griffin of Mendon; three daughters, Rhonda Risley of Quincy, Robin Dieker (Jeff) of Matthews, NC and Rebecca Groce (Bob) of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Dieker, Kenneth Dieker, Natosha DeWeese, Derek Ott (Cassie), Connor Ott, Kelsey Griffin, Harley Griffin and Caleb Griffin; several great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Simpson (Maureen) of Candler, NC; and several loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; her step father, Bill Simpson; a son, Derek Griffin; and three brothers, Joe Wand, Ronald Wand and Brian Simpson.

   Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.

   There is no visitation, but family and friends are invited to attend the graveside services.

   Memorials may be made to the Barbara Griffin Memorial Fund.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
