MILDRED DONHARDT

   Mildred Donhardt, 85, of Quincy, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 7:03 a.m. Tuesday (December 27, 2016) in St. Vincent's Home.

   Born July 1, 1931 in Wheeling, Missouri, Mildred was the daughter of Charles and Evelyn Howerton Drummond.  She married Edward Donhardt Sr. on April 9, 1951 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2012.

   Mildred was a member of the Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, doing embroidery work, word search books, reading her Bible, collecting angels and adding to her extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers. She loved cooking for her family and friends, especially baking pies, making her applesauce raisin cake and her famous nutmeg sugar cookies. Faith and Family were most important to Mildred. She was a kind person with a big heart who was always there to lend a helping hand and will be remembered for her strong faith and testimony to others.

   Mildred had been employed at Premier Linen Supply for 10 years, until her retirement in 1956.

   Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Chezem (Wilbur Jr.) of Quincy; five sons, Edward Donhardt Jr (Bertha) of Payson, IL, Harold "Eugene" Donhardt of Quincy, Michael Donhardt of Quincy, David Donhardt (Carol Rardon) of Quincy and James Donhardt of Quincy; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Maple (Travis) of Ursa, IL, William Chezem Sr. (Martha) of Quincy, Mathew Chezem (Patricia Chestnut) of Quincy, Karrie Hill (Joey) of Midland, TX, Bonnie St. Myer (Bryan Underwood) of Quincy,  Heather Donhardt (Creston Brown) of Palmyra, MO, Braydon Donhardt of Quincy, Taelor Peterson (Jordan) of Quincy and Levi Campbell of Quincy; ten great grandchildren, Megan Chezem, Marcus Chezem, Emily Chezem, William "Doug" Chezem Jr., Connor Maple, Grace Maple, Brynn Hill, Brooklyn Hill, Dylan St. Myer and Alexander St. Myer; many loving step grandchilden and step great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Drummond (Traci) of Quincy and Frank Drummond (Joann) of Quincy; two sisters, Vivian Miles of Quincy and Bernice Nichols (Richard "Jack") of Hannibal, MO; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

   Mrs. Donhardt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; a grandson, Zachery Donhardt; a grandson in law, Jason St. Myer; three sisters, Dorothy Arnold, Edith Cookson and Shirley Cookson; and three brothers in law, William "Bill" Cookson, Paul Miles and Robert Cookson.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Ron George officiating.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center.

   The family would like to thank St. Vincent's Home for all the love, support and care that they gave to our mother.  The whole staff was wonderful.

Dear Jim and Family so sorry for your loss,Your mom was one of the sweetest Ladys the I had ever met in my life. Just know she is with your Dad now in the arms of God.

I met both Millie and Ed when they were volunteers at the Chamber of Commerce about 20 years ago. They were truly the kindest people I've ever met. May she rest in peace.

Sorry for the loss of a wonderful lady. Mildred was a wonderful spiritual person that loved her family and enjoyed cooking. I met her years and years ago and had not seen her for years. My condolences to all the family.

The passing of someone you love is never and easy thing. Please accept my condolences for the recent loss of Mildred. May the promises in God's words at (Revelation 21:4 & Acts 24:15) bring you comfort and peace in the upcoming days. I am truly sorry for your pain and loss.
