DEBRA ANN ARNETT

   Debra Ann Arnett, 64, of Quincy, died at 5:05 p.m. Saturday (January 28, 2017) in Sunset Home.

   Born March 16, 1952, in Quincy, Debra was the daughter of William Glidewell and Carolyn M. Gollaher.  She was raised in the home of her grandparents, Charles and Florence Arnett.

   Debra was a graduate of Quincy High School, John Wood Community College with an Associate in Arts, and Quincy College with High Honors and a double major in Sociology and Psychology. Her passion in life was to help others. She became a registered social worker in 1988 and a licensed nursing home administrator in 1999. Early in her career, Debra ran the Riverview Community Center, a place for children and teens who are at a high risk of juvenile delinquency. She later was employed by RFMS of Galesburg, Illinois, serving as the administrator of several group homes in several county areas, some of which were Quincy Terrace, Maple Terrace, and CILA in Quincy. She was passionate about making the world a better place and improving the lives of the people in it.

   Debra enjoyed fine arts, music, cooking, gardening, reading, and loved to shoot pool, especially with her league team, the Anchor Animals.

   She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, friend, and beautiful person.

   Survivors include her son, Andrew Alan Arnett; her two brothers, Bill and Marshall Glidewell of California; her companion of 21 years, Seb Stanley formerly of Quincy; her ex-husband, Robert Stay; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

   Debra was preceded in death by her parents.

   Cremation was accorded to Debra. No services will be held.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Deb hired me for the best job i have ever had. i owe her a lot of thanks. She sill be missed.
