   Betty J. Crary, 86, of Quincy, formerly of Romeo, Michigan, passed away at 12:00 a.m. Wednesday (May 10, 2017) at the Illinois Veterans Home. She had been a resident for little over a year.

   Born August 22, 1930 in Mt. Union, Pennsylvania, Betty was the daughter of Oliver and Susan Jane Goshorn Grove.  She married James W. Crary on June 19, 1954 in Mt. Union, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1988.

   Betty proudly served her country as a nurse in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

   Betty was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Almont (Michigan) Community Hospital for many years.  She also worked at the Ford Tractor Plant in Romeo, MI. and retired as a nurse for Romeo Nursing Home in 1995.

   Betty enjoyed being with her Great Grand Children, sewing and playing Bridge and was a member of the Romeo Players Club. She also loved music and playing the piano as a young girl.

   Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Proske (Von LaRose) of Quincy, Susan Crechiolo of Sterling Heights, MI and Sandra Reardon of Midland, MI; four grandchildren, Rebecca Gosnell (Derek), Carly Crary, Alexandra Reardon and Stephanie Reardon; three great grandchildren, Daustin Gosnell, Noah Gosnell and Adilyn Gosnell; and several nieces and nephews.

   Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; a sister, Grace Norris; and four brothers, George Grove, John Grove, Ralph Grove and Roy Grove.

   Cremation has been accorded to Betty.  Private services will be held at a later date in Michigan.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Condolances to her family from all of the Lady Vets in the Tri-state area. May she now rest in peace knowing that she took care of her military soldiers when they needed her.
