BETTY JEAN STEFFEN

   Betty Jean Steffen, 92, of Quincy died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday (May 28, 2017) in Sunset Home.

   Born March 14, 1925 in Quincy, Betty was the daughter of John and Helen Schafer Schnellbacher.  She married William "Bill" F. Steffen on January 31, 1942 in Edina, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on November 21, 2012.

   Betty was an accomplished seamstress and she enjoyed shopping especially in the department stores.  She also enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, dancing and swimming.  She was a past member of the Northside and Southside Boat Clubs, Twin Oaks and Rocky Point Clubs.

   Betty was employed at the International Shoe Factory in Quincy for several years and later as a key punch operator at Motorola until her retirement in 1975.

   Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Jean Grannan; a son, Terry Lee Steffen; a son in-law  Roy E. Riddle all of Quincy; five grandchildren Todd L. Grannan of Venice, FL, Jeffrey R. Grannan of Engelwood, FL, Greg W. Grannan (Missy) of Engelwood, FL, Steven "Stevo" L. Steffen of Quincy and Kurt A. Steffen (Angie) of Quincy; ten great-grandchildren Stephanie Steffen, Ashley Grannan, Danielle Grannan, Harley J. Kindhart, Taylor Steffen, Cassy Steffen, Nicole Grannan, Garrette Grannan, Jessie Lee Grannan, Macy Grannan; five great great-grandchildren Damon, Dillon, Devin, Paige and Kenleigh. Also surviving is one sister Janet Tate of Quincy and several loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Steffen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Billie Ann Steffen-Riddle and several brothers and sisters.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday morning 10:00 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Manago officiating.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be held Saturday morning  from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
