WILBUR H. SMITH

   Wilbur H. Smith, 85, of Quincy, died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday (June 8, 2017) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born August 10, 1931 near Marblehead, Illinois, Wilbur was the son of Tony E.and Flossie E. Chandler Smith. He married Martha J. Boyer in May,1956 in Quincy.  She survives.
  
   Wilbur was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God. In his younger days, he loved working on cars and rebuilding car engines. More recently, Wilbur enjoyed watching television and spending time with his family, who will fondly remember him as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

   Wilbur was employed at Prairie Farms Dairy and the Lincoln Douglas Hotel for several years. He later was employed at Deters Dairy as a milk delivery man until his retirement.

   Survivors include three sons, Michael Smith (Judith) of Quincy; Wilbur E. Smith Jr.(Denise) of Fremont, Nebraska ; Robert L."Bob" Smith of Freemont Nebraska;. six grandchildren, Wil Smith Jr. ,Melissa Smith, Kelsey Smith, Drew Smith, Tyler Smith and Shannon Smith; a brother, Tony Smith Jr. of Quincy, two sisters, Bertha R. Johnston and Anna Mae Baum both of Quincy;and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Donnie Lee Smith; a sister, Jessie M. Sparrow; a sister in law Theresa L. Smith; and two brothers in law. Richard Baum and Joseph Johnston.

   Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with pastor Ronald Garner officiating .  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Sunday evening from 3:00 to 6:00 and Monday morning from 9:30 until the time of his service at the funeral Home.  

   Memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church.
