LORETTA  MAE  CAREL

   Loretta Mae Carel, 53, of Quincy, died at 1:07 a.m. Tuesday (August 8, 2017) in her home.

    Born July 24, 1964 in Carrollton, Illinois, Loretta was the daughter of William and Maxine D. Nunn. She married  Paul I. Carel on  February 7, 1981 in Quincy.  He survives.

    Loretta was a member of The Crossing 929. She enjoyed playing games on her phone but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

    Survivors include her mother, Maxine D. Eldridge of Quincy; her husband, Paul; two sons, Paul James Carel of St. Louis, MO and Raymond William Carel of Quincy; three daughters, Nicole Marie Carel of San Diego, CA, Dorothy Pauline Lynn Carel of Quincy and Ashley Ann Carel of Quincy; ten grandchildren, Destiny Carel, Xavien Nikonsuk, Elijah Nikonsuk, Gabby Nikonsuk, Theresa Carel, Jakayla Carel, Maximum Fields, Lilly Fields, Zaiden Whisler and Raziah Whisler; a great grandson, Bishop Paul McColez; four brothers, Johnny Mutchler (Amber) of Sumner, IL, Chris Nunn of Quincy, Kenny Forbes of Quincy and David Snyder of Quincy; four sisters, Carrie Smith (Shawn) of Quincy, Brenda Akins of Quincy, Pamela Lindsay of Jacksonville, IL and Cathy Miller of Liberty, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

    Loretta was preceded in death by her father, William Nunn; her step father, Leo James Eldridge; and a brother, Linny Nunn.

    Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in The Crossing 929 with Pastor Jon Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

    Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at The Crossing 929.

    Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

    Memorials may be made to Paul Carel for help with expenses.
