DORIS J. EICKEN

     Doris J. Eicken, 79 of Quincy, died at 7:02 am Saturday (September 16, 2017) in a nursing home in Jacksonville, Illinois.

     Born September 20, 1937 in Quincy, Doris was the daughter of Walter E. and Salina Lambert Epker.

      Doris enjoyed working in her yard, playing bingo, traveling, fishing, gardening and being with children and her Dog Baby. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

      Ms. Eicken was first employed at the Adams County Courthouse in the maintenance department, and later worked as a care giver for Adams County Home Health Care for several years before her retirement.

     Survivors include one daughter; Cara Lee Eicken of Payson, IL; one niece and nephew Gary Ditto and Peggy Ditto of Payson, IL; one great niece; Shawna Ditto of Quincy; one great nephew, Skylar Ditto; two great nieces, Courtney Ditto and Sierra Smith, both of Quincy; one brother in law, Tarzan Ruiz of Jacksonville; and several other great nieces and nephews.

     Doris was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Delores Ruiz, six brothers, Donald, Cletus "Buck", Vernon, Dale, Richard and Marvin Eicken

    A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 pm in Greenmount Cemetery.

    Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

    Memorials may be made to the Doris Eicken Memorial Fund to help with expenses.

    Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
