ROBERT "BOB" J. LOHMAN

    Robert "Bob" Lohman 75, of Quincy, died at 3:20 am Saturday (September 30, 2017) at St. Vincent Nursing Home.
    
    Born October 1, 1941 in Quincy, Bob was the son of Lester E. "Les" and Ruth K. Beck  Lohman. On May 25, 1963, he married Mary Ellen Kurk in St. Joseph Church. She survives.

    After graduating from Christian Brothers High School in 1959, Bob went on to attend Quincy College. Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a "Fourth Degree Knight". He served as a camp master and Scout leader for Boyscout troop No. 76 when his sons were active in scouting. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and playing cards. He especially loved playing Solitaire on the computer.

    Mr. Lohman worked as an accountant for 58 years alongside his father Lester "Les" Lohman and presently with his wife Mary Ellen and son Ed in the family's accounting business. In his professional career, Bob served as a past President, Executive Officer and Director for the Independent Accountants Association of Illinois. He was honored by the Association as the Person of the Year in 2005.  

    Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen of 54 years;  three sons, Edward "Ed" J. Lohman (Terrie) of Quincy,  David A. Lohman (Tonia) of St. Louis, MO and Kenneth Lohman of Quincy; four grandchildren, Nicole Hoosier (Clinton) of Quincy, Morgan Goehl (Tyler) of Wichita, KS, Jessica Lohman of St. Louis, MO and Samantha Lohman of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, James Lohman of Fowler, IL and William Lohman of Ewing, MO; and one sister, Mary Jane Hanlin of Quincy.

    Mr. Lohman was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Carol Anne Lohman.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in St. Anthony Church with Rev. Tom Donovan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.  

   Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at St. Anthony Church.

   Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Church.  

    Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Mary Ellen and family, so sorry to learn of Bob's passing. I will keep in my thoughts as you go through these final days of your final goodbyes. Bob was a good man and even though I have not seen the two of you in several years, your names have come up quite often in conversations. Thinking of you.
