   David W. Daniels , 69, of Quincy died at 2:34 pm Sunday (October 8, 2017) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born August 18, 1948 in Quincy, David was the son of Omer and Seretta C. Bryson Daniels.  

   After graduating from Unity High School in 1966, David proudly served his County in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart.
    Mr. Daniels was employed at The Harris Corporation in the Fabrication Department as a night time working supervisor for over 35 years until his retirement in 2009.

     David enjoyed going to the Tin Dusters Color Run each year, hunting for mushrooms, golfing, hunting, trout fishing in Bennett Springs, Missouri. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. David was a generous person who loved helping others and spending time with his family.

   Survivors include his longtime companion and soulmate Christine "Chris" Watkins; her daughter Kimberly Faircloth (Danny) ; her son Derek "Boomer" Purdy; her grandchildren, Kiley, Dakota and Aubree; his sister Susan Tresch; his brother Brett Daniels (Donna Smith); and a half sister Mary Larson. Also surviving are several loving nieces, great nieces and cousins.

   Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marla Witt, his nephew Chance Wiskirchen, his brother in law Dennis Tresch, his uncle Charles "Squirley" Bryson,  his cousin Doug Bryson and his half brother Richard Daniels.

  A private family graveside service with Military Honors by the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honors Detail will be held at a later date. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery.

   Memorials may be made to New Providence Cemetery.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Enjoyed my years working and playing golf with Dave. He was a great guy and will be truly missed. I can hear him calling me "Albert" to this day.

Chris and the entire family you have my deepest condolences. I'm sad to hear about Dave's passing. He was a great person to know at work and outside work. I'm sad you hear of his passing.

Dave was a good friend. I enjoyed shooting trap at the Quincy Gun Club with him. He was an excellent trap shooter. Many of our members will miss him. Dave and I also fished together. I will truly miss him.
