   Arvol Newton Pearon, 86,  of Mendon, Illinois, died at 7:37 p.m. Friday (November 3, 2017) at Blessing Hospital.

   Born September 10, 1931 in Miller County, Missouri, Arvol was the son of John W. and Ruth Jane Hughes Pearon.  He married Barbara Lightle Hageman on March 10, 1999 in McAllen, Texas. She survives.

   Arvol served his country in the U. S. Army from 1948 to 1950 when he was discharged into the Army Reserve. He trained troops at Ft. Leonard Wood and was later promoted to First Sergeant of the 408th HQ in Kansas City where he was attached until his discharge on October 31, 1963.

   Arvol had been employed as a truck driver for many years until he became a Sheriff's Deputy in Wyandotte County, Kansas until his retirement.

   Arvol had a great love of music, listening and collecting over 10,000 songs. He played guitar and sang in bands and loved to sing Karoke.

   Survivors include his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Marjorie Colleen Newell of Wellsville, KS; three step children, Carol Mayfield of Quincy, Richard Hageman of Longmont, CO and Cynthia Crook of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; ten great great granchildren; and many loving step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Pearon was preceded in death by his parents; a step daughter, Sandra Sutton; a sister, Laura Mae Pearon; and four brothers, Raymond Pearon, Herbert Pearon, Leland Pearon and Alfred Pearon.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Hastings officiating.  Inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery at a later date.

    Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation.

I am so sorry. I have such wonderful memories of Arvol and his work in Mission, Texas. Hugs & god's Love to the family.

Carol and family, So sorry for your loss. Even though I met Arvol once, he seemed like a nice man, hard to believe he is gone. Time will heal, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
