Miss Alice Seckman, 74, of 2085 Maine, died at 4:23 p.m. Saturday (December 18, 2004) at Blessing Hospital.
Born October 1, 1930 in Quincy, Alice was the daughter of Jonathan Edwin and Ruth E. Smith Seckman.
Alice was a member of New Beginnings Evangelical Free Church. She was a 1948 graduate of Quincy High School and a graduate of Gem City Business School. Alice was a charter member of Order of Rainbow For Girls, Assembly #31 and was past Worthy Advisor. She was also past Worth Matron of Grace Whipple Chapter O.E.S. #312 and a member of PEO Chapter F.
Miss Seckman was currently employed as a legal secretary for the law firm of Mays Walden & Anastas for 30 years.
Surviving is a sister, Ada R. Himes of Quincy; a sister in law, Arlene Seckman Lilley and her husband Forrest; a niece, Chris Seckman of Omaha, NB.; a nephew, David Seckman and his wife Rebecca of Washington, DC.; and three great nephews, Jason Seckman and Daniel Seckman, both of Omaha, NB. and Christopher Seckman of Washington, DC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jonathan E. Seckman; one nephew, Jonathan Kent Seckman; and a brother in law, Robert Himes.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Tom Henderson. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
