ANNA M. IPPENSEN

Mrs. Anna M. Ippensen, 89, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 3334 Keller Lane, died at 7:10 a.m. Sunday (February 17, 2008) in the Good Samaritan Home.

Born February 4, 1919 in FallCreek Township, Adams County, Illinois, Anna was the daughter of Joseph and Mollie Politsch Kappner. She married Alvin Ippensen on April 19, 1939 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2004.

Anna was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, a life member of the Eagles Auxiliary where she served as Past President and a former member of the Ladies of the Moose. Anna enjoyed china painting and oil painting but her greatest joy came in the time she spent with her family.

Anna farmed with her husband Alvin for many years in Melrose Township. She enjoyed the many years they wintered in Mesa, Arizona.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald A. Ippensen and his wife Jane of Quincy, Kenneth A. Ippensen and his wife Barb of Payson, IL. and Steve A. Ippensen and his wife Sue of Quincy; two daughters, Bonnie Jean Peters of Quincy and Shirley Ann Blair and her husband Donald of Quincy; twelve grandchildren, Carol Coulter and her husband David, Becky Meehan and her husband Rick, Dennis Peters and his wife Kathy, David Peters, Susan Cramsey and her husband Dave, Cathy Power and her husband Eric, Lorrie Ippensen Vreeman and her husband Dan, Brian Ippensen and his wife Penny, Sarah Stock and her husband Rob, Andrew Ippensen and his wife Melissa, Brenda Hollander and her husband Reid and Carrie Kemp and her husband Owen; four step grandchildren, Annette Ehrhardt and her husband Dennis, Allan Schrand and his wife Melanie, Chris Schrand and his wife Lora Lee and Karen Ronchetto and her husband Dan; 21 great grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Ippensen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin; a granddaughter, Shelly Ippensen; her son in law, Richard E. Peters; a sister, Elsie Heitholt; and three brothers, Clarence Kappner, Aldo Kappner and Lester Kappner.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.
