
ANNA M. LOWARY
Mrs. Anna M. Lowary, 91, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 623 Lind, died at 5:05 a.m. Friday (January 27, 2006) in the home.
Born November 14, 1914 in Clearwater County, Minnesota, Anna was the daughter of Lars E. and Lena Bakke Jewell. She married Z. Leon "Stretch" Lowary on January 30, 1938 in Wayland, Missouri. He survives.
Anna was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was employed as a Pharmacy Apprentice at Earl & Buss Drugs for over 20 years, retiring in 1979.
Surviving is her husband, Leon; two sons, L. Thomas Lowary and his wife Judith of Chatham, IL. and Dean J. Lowary and his wife Anna of Chicago, IL.; four grandchildren, Cheryl Alberts and her husband Mike, Susan Perko and her husband Larry, Todd Lowary and his wife Heather, and Deana Saleen and her husband Kareem; Eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Julian Jewell and his wife Edna of Vernon, British Columbia and Leonard Dalemo of Chelan, Canada; one sister, Viola Paul and her husband Richard of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lowary was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary W. Lowary; two brothers, Edward Jewell and Thorval Jewell; and four sisters, Hazel Harris, Thea Mabry, Christina Dalemo and Eleanor Barrowman.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Livengood. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery near Loraine, Illinois.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
