ANNA MERKER
Anna Merker, 46, of 536 E. 2400th Street, Liberty, Illinois, died at 9:15 pm, Tuesday (February 2, 2010) in her home.
Born July 28, 1963 in Quincy, Anna was the daughter of Harold F. and Patricia Mary Weiman Lockett. She married John Merker on October 28, 1992 in Daphne, Alabama. He survives.
Anna loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed golfing, boating and riding her motorcycle. She had been active with the Quincy Community Theater and was cast as Big Mamma in the play, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".
A 1981 graduate of Liberty High School, Anna was employed at Blue Cross / Blue Shield in Quincy before moving to Springfield, Illinois where she was an Administrative Assistant with the Family Service Center, until health issues forced her to retire.
Survivors include her husband, John; her mother, Pat Lockett of Quincy; a sister, Diana Jones and her husband Nick of Quincy; four brothers, Mike Lockett and his wife Theresa of Quincy, Mark Lockett and his wife Suzanne of Liberty, Dean Chandler and his wife Carol of Quincy and David Chandler and his wife Pam of Navarre, FL; her mother in law, Lula Wellman of Camp Point, IL; three sisters in law, Pauline Scott and her husband Peter of Camp Point, IL, Lori Roberts and her husband Jesse of Liberty and Teresa Staley and her husband Robby of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, Harold Lockett; and her father in law, Robert Bush.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Anna. Private family services will be held at a later date.
