BARBARA J. BARTAY

Mrs. Barbara J. Bartay, 70, of the North Adams Home, formerly of 1124 Madison, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday (February 4, 2005) in North Adams Home.

Born November 28, 1934 in Hannibal, Missouri, Barbara was the daughter of Harry and Zelphia Robb Patterson. She was married to Eugene Bartay who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bartay loved the outdoors and taking care of her garden. She was employed at the Palmyra Shoe Factory, Davis-Cleaver and Motorola before going to work in maintenance for the Quincy Park District, where she worked until her retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Smith and her fiance' Mark Benge of Quincy; two sons, Alan Bartay of Ewing, MO. and John Bartay of Quincy; two grandchildren, Jennifer Smith of Quincy and Alana Bartay of Ewing, MO.; four sisters, Dorlene Lawson and her husband Kenny, Darlene Chaplin and her husband Lee and Helen Stover and her husband Bill all of Hannibal, MO. and Nellie Spriggs of Palmyra, MO.; a sister in law, Mary Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bartay was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Regina Bartay; a brother, Harry Patterson; and a brother in law, Ron Spriggs.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
