
BESSIE WEISINGER
Mrs. Bessie Weisinger, 89, of Sunset Home, formerly of Payson, died at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday (May 24, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.
Born October 3, 1915 in Richfield Township, Bessie was the daughter of James Edward and Bessie May Hollembeak Fruit. She married Clifton Ellis Weisinger Sr. on August 6, 1933 in Barry, Illinois. He preceded her in death.
Bessie was a member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church and a former member of the Plainville Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
She was employed for many years as the Postmaster in Payson until her retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Weisinger and his wife Connie of Tioga, IL.,David Weisinger and his wife Shirley of Millington, TN. and Clifton Weisinger Jr. and his wife Karen of Quincy; two daughters, Sylvia Darnell and her husband Harold of St. Louis, MO. and Diane Carl and her husband Jerry of Springfield, IL.; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a brother, William Clay "Bill" Fruit and his wife Winifred of Quincy; a brother in law, L. Nicholas Weisinger of Payson; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Weisinger was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Walter Weisinger; a granddaughter, Kerry Jordan; a brother, James Fruit; and a half brother, Nelson Sparrow.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy by the Rev. Lori Harvey. Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home in Quincy.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
