
BETTE LEE PETERS
Mrs. Bette Lee Peters, 80, of 2716 Brook Drive, Quincy, died at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday (March 20, 2007) in her home.
Born August 29, 1926 in Quincy, Bette was the daughter of John Edward and Gladys Gertrude Mason Caine. She married Dwight Peters on October 9, 1959 in New London, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1979.
Bette was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family.
A 1943 graduate of Quincy High School, Bette was employed for many years as a nurse assistant at the Illinois Veterans Home until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Ancell and her husband Chuck of Mendon; three sons, Dean Peters and his wife Aneta of Mendon, Steve Liter of Edwardsville, IL. and Larry Liter of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Darin Peters of Quincy, Crichette Peters of Mendon and Joey Zwick and his wife Jill and Jason Zwick and his wife Lindsey both of Quincy; four great grandchildren, Gavan Zwick, Brandyn Zwick, Emaly Zwick and Thalia Peters; a brother, Louis Edward Caine of Springfield, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Judy M. Peters; two brothers, Melvin Caine and Chet Caine; and a sister, Edith Runquist.
Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Quincy Memorial Park by the Rev. Terry Caine.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 12:45 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
