
BETTY CHATTEN
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Chatten, 75, of Sycamore Health Care Center, formerly of 3728 North 12th, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday (May 27, 2006) in the home.
Born January 29, 1930 in Quincy, Betty was the daughter of Frank and Florence Moenning Kurz. She married Robert W. "Bob" Chatten on November 24, 1949 in St. Rose Catholic Church in Quincy. He died December 18, 2004.
Betty was a graduate of Quincy High School and was a member of All Saints Parrish in Quincy. She loved the outdoors, flowers and watching sunsets.
Betty was employed in the Dietary Department at the Illinois Veterans Home until her retirement in 1996.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Zelle and her husband Brad and Ann Cadwallader and her husband Bill both of Quincy; three sons, Jeff Chatten of Jefferson City, MO., Guy Chatten and Craig Chatten and his wife Kandy both of Quincy; twelve grandchildren, Jason Chatten, Daryl Chatten, Jessie Chatten, Gabrial Chatten, Katie Simmons, Ruby Stevens and her husband Aaron, Christian Wingerter, Melissa Wingerter, Robert Chatten, Andrea Chatten, Jewel Chatten and Jasmine Chatten; two brothers, Frank Kurz of St. Louis, MO. and Kenneth Kurz and his wife Millie of Springfield, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chatten was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Donnie Kurz; a sister, Evalyn Kurz: and a sister in law, Norma Kurz.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Chatten. Private family burial will be held in Ellington Home Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
