BETTY L. TORRENS

Mrs. Betty L. Torrens, 74, of 2115 Sunnybrook Drive East, died at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday (April 15, 2008) in Blessing Hospital.

Born May 1, 1933 in Barry, Illinois , Betty was the daughter of  Scully and Fanny Bell Robb Wheelan. She married Kenneth E. Torrens on June 17, 1956 in Barry, Illinois. He survives.

Betty was a member of Union United Methodist Church and the Fidellas Class at church. She enjoyed singing and making Christmas Baskets. She loved to spend time with her family and dog Baxter.

Survivors also include a daughter Karen Brockway and her husband Andy of Lafayette, CO: two grandchildren Karson Brockway and Kellan Brockway both of Lafayette, CO; two sisters Eileen Hoyt and her husband Bill of Barry, IL and Annabell Johnston of Quincy, IL and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Torrens was preceded in death by her parents; a son Kevin Torrens; and two brothers, Bill Wheelan and Ralph Wheelan.

Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Union United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Morwell and Rev. Donald Batz. Graveside services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Parklawn Cemetery in Barry, IL.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Saturday morning from 9:00 until the time of the service at the church.
