WILBUR "BILL" HARNESS

Mr. Wilbur L. "Bill" Harness, 82, of Sunset Home, formerly of 1123 South 56th, died at 3:00 a.m. Thursday (October 5, 2006) in Sunset Home.

Born January 1, 1924 in Mendon, Illinois, Bill was the son of Carl and Edna Altheide Harness. He married Marilyn Ruth Doht on October 10, 1946 in Quincy. She died July 20, 1990.

Mr. Harness served his country in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He worked as an electronic engineer at Broadcast Electronics for many years until his retirement..

Survivors include a daughter, Linda LaTour and her husband John of Quincy; a son, Randall Harness and his wife Linda of Quincy; four grandchildren, Bill LaTour and his wife Cindy, Kim Weitholder and her husband Rob, Ross Harness and Jim Harness all of Quincy; four step great grandchildren, Rhea Duschinsky, Tony Duschinsky, Tyler Duschinsky and Amber Apps; and four step great great grandchildren.

Mr. Harness was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Arloine Gilbert.
Cremation rites were accorded to Mr. Harness. Private family services will be held at a later date.
The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
