Mr. William E. "Bill" Rice, 55, of 2706 South 24th, died at 12:24 p.m. Friday (November 26, 2004) in the emergency room of Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Born October 6, 1949 in Quincy, Bill was the son of Archie and Edna V. Sass Rice. He married Sharolyn Little on May 2, 1970 in St. John Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.
Bill attended St. Boniface Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was
a member of South Side Boat Club, North Side Boat Club and the Mississippi Valley Hunter & Fisherman. Bill's greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughter.
Bill was currently employed as Sales Manager for Williams Shooter Supply, where he worked for the last 20 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tom Rice of Quincy; two daughters, Deanna Turnbaugh and her husband Don and Kathy Rice both of Quincy; a granddaughter, Bailey Bradley of Quincy; three step grandchildren; two brothers, James Rice and his wife Maudine of Quincy and Joseph Rice and his wife Brenda of Liberty; three sisters in law, Marilyn Hileman of Patterson, IL., Carolyn Ackley of Waverly, IL. and Judy Little of Pittsfield, IL.; a brother in law, Dale Little and his wife Ruby of Roodhouse, IL.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother in law, Filbert and Florence Little; and two brothers in law, Larry Little and Jim Hileman.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Boniface Catholic Church by the Rev. John Carberry. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home. A Christian Wake Service will be Monday evening at 6:00 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Boniface Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
