
ROBERT "BOB" WEISENBORN
Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Weisenborn, 71, of 3213 Ellington Road, died at 8:47 a.m. Saturday (July 7, 2007) in his home.
Born July 8, 1935 in Quincy, Bob was the son of Lawrence and Florence Degitz Weisenborn. He married Marilyn Wielage on June 17, 1962 in Salem Church in Quincy. She survives.
Bob was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ where he was active with the Couple's Club and served on the church council and as an Elder. He also served as a member of the Greenmount Cemetery Board of Directors. Bob loved to read and work the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle. Mr. Weisenborn served his country in the U.S. Army.
Bob attended Center Elementary School and was a graduate of Quincy High School. He attended Western Illinois University, the University of Missouri and the University of Illinois. He farmed on the family farm for many years and later became the Maintenance Director for Good Samaritan Home. He retired in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Kathy Weisenborn Fauble and her husband Curtis of Quincy and Lori Weisenborn and Demetris Galatopoullos of Waltham, MA.; two grandchildren, Kadi Fauble and Andrew Fauble both of Quincy, and was awaiting the arrival of a grandson in August; a sister Betty Scott and her husband Ronald of Hinsdale, IL.; a sister in law, Charlotte Mazanek and her husband Richard of Alma, IL.; two brothers in law, Steven Wielage and his wife Samantha of Marion, IA. and David Wielage of Quincy; four nephews, David Scott and his wife Debra of Lombard, IL. and Daniel Scott of Hinsdale, IL., Bradley Mazanek and his wife Lisa of Alma, IL. and Clayton Wielage of Marion, IA.; three nieces, Susan Bull and her husband Len of Belleville, IL, Christine Rohner of Sarasota, FL. and Chalet Carrol of Marion, IA.; two Aunts; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Mr. Weisenborn was preceded in death by his parents; and several aunts and uncles.
To honor Bob's wishes private services will be held by the Rev. Larry Wentzel and Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at a reception at 12:00 on Tuesday at Salem Hall, 9th & State.
