STEPHEN "BUTCH" COLLINS

Mr. Stephen "Butch" Collins, 65, of 2524 Northbrook, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday (December 4, 2006) in Blessing Hospital Emergency Room.

Born August 13, 1941 in Jacksonville, IL, Stephen was the son of Harry F. and Clara Crane Collins. He married Geraldine Phillips on December 28, 1959 in Pittsfield. She survives.

Butch was employed at Bergman Nurseries for over 44 years retiring in 2002. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; a daughter Cindy Horton of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Stephen and Joseph Strieker of Las Vegas, NV, and Sarah Harris and her husband Timothy of Las Vegas, NV; two great grandchildren, Archer and Timothy Harris of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Charles Collins and his wife Ruby of Reno, NV, and Larry Collins and his wife Shirley of Quincy; one sister Rose Scheiter and her husband Raymond of Quincy; a brother in law Gary Phillips and his wife Pat of Pittsfield, IL; two sisters in law Mary Ann Ehrgott and her husband Rex and Breba Brawdy and her husband Joe all of Pittsfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Phillip D. and Cory J. Collins; and one grandson Zachary Lee Strieker.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Great Grandchildrens Education Fund.
