
CARL F. "Pee Wee" MILLER
Mr. Carl F. "Pee Wee" Miller, 77, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of 722 South 7th, died at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday (March 1, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.
Born June 30, 1927 in Quincy, Carl was the son of Fred and Bessie Peacock Miller.
Carl was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and a life member of the Quincy V. F. W. Post 5129. He enjoyed swimming, woodworking and was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Miller joined the U. S. Air Force in 1947 and served tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a Tech Sergeant on September 30, 1968 after 21 years of distinguished service. When Mr. Miller returned to Quncy, he worked in the shipping department at Brower Manufacturing for 14 years.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Rampley and her husband Gerald and Hazel Stewart and her husband Charles both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Harrison.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorial may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
