CARL BERLIN HENDRICKS

Mr. Carl Berlin Hendricks, 89, of 118 High St., Plainville, died at 12:03 a.m. Sunday (March 13, 2005) at Blessing Hospital.

Born June 9, 1915 in Kingston, Illinois, Carl was the son of John Rolland and Luella Likes Hendricks. He married Kathleen Sprague on January 11, 1945 in Quincy. She survives.

Carl was a member of the Plainville Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for over 25 years. He was a member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge #529. Carl was a trustee from 1951 until 1973 on the Plainville Town Board and then served as President from 1973 until 1999. He served his country in WWII in the U.S. Army serving in the harbor defense of San Francisco, CA. His oldest brother Fay had served in the U.S. Army in WWI and died in France.

Mr. Hendricks was self employed as a painter and decorator working in many homes in the Quincy, Plainville and Barry areas.

Surviving is his wife, Kathleen of Plainville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Fay, Ray, Paul, Fred and Herbert Hendricks; five sisters, Lucille Cook, Goldie Sparks, May Hendricks, Nina Wells, and Hilda Campbell; a niece, Barbara Rottman; and a nephew, Harold Sparks.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Plainville Baptist Church by Rev. Robert Kean and Rev. Ron Cox. Burial with Military Honors by Payson V.F.W. Post #2061 will be in Stewart Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson.
