CARSON G. WHITNEY

Mr. Carson G. Whitney, 61, of 2717 Elm St., died at 1:55 a.m. Saturday (November 17, 2007) in his home.

Born September 2, 1946 in Quincy, Carson was the son of George and Annabel Ratliff Whitney. He married Janie Humphrey on March 29, 1974 in Payson, Illinois. She survives.

Carson was employed as a bar tender for State Street Bar & Grill for many years. He previously worked at Electric Wheel, Huck Fixtures and Bross Construction.

Carson was a member of the Payson Masonic Lodge No. 379 and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved life and having a good time with his friends and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Janie; four daughters, Nichole Stinnett and her husband C.J. of Quincy, Chris Manis and her husband Jack of East Peoria, IL., Deborah Runk and her husband Mike of York, PA. and Carla Joy and her special friend Dave Kaelber of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Todd Reese and his fiance' Melissa Rector and Tim Reese and his wife Tenya both of Fairbanks, AK., Tiffany Reese and her special friend Candy Cason of Pulaski, TN., Laura St. Clair and her husband Aaron, Cason Muehring and his fiance' Casey Hamann, Brady Jacob Whitney, Cali Stinnett and Damien Stinnett all of Quincy; five great grandchildren, Neveah Reese, Jenna Reese and Ryder Carson Reese all of Fairbanks, AK., Zachary Runk of York, PA. and Hunter St. Clair of Quincy; a brother, Larry Whitney and his wife Joyce of Bernard, IA.; his mother in law, Moleta Echternkamp of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Whitney was preceded in death by his parents; his father in law, Willis Humphrey; and his step father in law, Carl Echternkamp.

Mr. Whitney donated his body to medical science.

A benefit and Life Celebration for Carson will be held Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 12:00 to 6:00 at the Eagles Club, 3737 North 5th, Quincy, IL.
