CATHERINE C. MARTIN
      

     Mrs. Catherine C. Martin, 82, of the Quincy - Clayton area, died at 6:19 a.m. Saturday (February 12, 2005) at the Prairie View Care Center in Lewistown, IL.
     

     Born August 14, 1922 in Hannibal, MO., Catherine was the daughter of Grover and Carlee Pascoe Stickney. She married Dale Cobern August 27, 1938 in Palmyra, MO. He died July 15, 1963. She then married Glen Martin June 3, 1971 in Quincy. He died October 31, 1988.
     

     Catherine was a member of the West Central Illinois Area Agency Board of Directors and was one of fourteen delegates to the White House Conference on aging. She helped on various fund raising events for the West Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging and was a member of the West Central Illinois Ombudsman Advisory Council, and the Senior Building Advisory Council. She was elected to the R.S.V.P. Hall of Fame in 1998 for her volunteerism of over 2000 hours. She also helped on the Two Rivers Commodity Project and was a former member of Our Lady of Angels Seminary Guild.
     

     Surviving are four sons, Jim Cobern and his wife Karen of Quincy, Marv Cobern and his wife Vi of Peculiar, MO., Ken Cobern and his wife Francie of Springfield, IL., and Craig Cobern and his wife Pam of Kellerville; one daughter, Yvonne Arnold and her husband Larry of Liberty; a niece whom she raised, Judy Swenson and her husband Wayne of New Canton, IL.; 24 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Wills and her husband John and Anna Douglas all of Pheonix, AZ.; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
     

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, Mike Cobern; one grandson, Gerald Dale Cobern; three sisters, Ione Dillon, Alice Wallace and Margaret Kindred; and one brother Frank Pascoe.
     

     Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at Graceland Cemetery by Rev. George Tomko.
     

     Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 until 1:15 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
     

     Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizen Center.
