FRANK McKAY
Mr. Charles Francis "Frank" McKay, 81, of 804 Rim Road, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday (October 30, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.
Born January 24, 1924 in Knox City, MO., Frank was the son of Charles Francis and Clara A. Lowenbaugh McKay. He married Margaret Marie Logan on January 23, 1946 in Colony, MO. She died August 29, 1992. He then married Clara Albertson Gates on April 27, 1996 in Quincy. She survives.
Mr. McKay was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He was over a 50 year member of the Knox City American Legion Post #358 and over a 50 year member of the Colony Masonic Lodge #168. He was an avid Quincy University Basketball fan and enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the destroyer escort USS Ellyson
Frank was employed at Doyle Manufacturing as a purchasing agent for over 18 years retiring in 1989. He then was employed at the Ron Doyle Outdoor Sportsworld and the Ron Doyle Farm.
Also surviving is his daughter, Daphne Wyckoff of Seguin, TX.; a daughter in law, Toni McKay of Liberty; four grandchildren, James McKay of Liberty, Sean Morrow and his wife Elizabeth of Towanda, IL., Jason Morrow and his wife Coletta and Jeremy Morrow all of Normal, IL.; three great grandchildren, Mary Margert Morrow of Normal, and Brook and Tiffany Morrow, both of Towanda; a sister, Venitte Brownne and her husband Robert of San Jose, CA.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one son, Craig McKay; two sisters, Ada Mae McIntrye and Jo Ellen Meeker; and a half sister, Clara E. Schemp.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev Robert Morwell. Burial with Military Honors by Knox City City American Legion Post #358 will be in Colony Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Union United Methodist Church or the James E. Cary Cancer Center in Hannibal, MO.
