CHARLES D. "CHUCK" HANKINS

Charles D. "Chuck" Hankins, 52, of 638 South 19th died at 8:22 pm Thursday (December 10, 2009) in Blessing Hospital.

Born March 3, 1957 in Fitchburg, MA. Charles was the son of William P. and Mary W. Fenton Hankins. He married Jacki K. Kientzle on June 15, 1979 in Quincy.

Chuck enjoyed bowling, fishing, restoring old cars and working on his computer. He was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Mr. Hankins was employed as a mechanic at Moorman Manufacturing for 19 years and also tended bar at the Casino Starlight for over 25 years. He was last employed at the Phil Craig Roofing Company for 5 years retiring in 2002 due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife Jacki, one daughter Abigail R. "Abbie" Hankins of Quincy; two sons Tyler C. Hankins and his wife Lucy and Evan W. Hankins and his wife Sara both of Quincy; his faithful companion Cooper; Four grandchildren, Quinton P., Ethan A., Carter J., and Olivia H. Hankins all of Quincy; Four brothers, Robert E. Hankins and his wife Dottie, William L. Hankins and his wife Freda, Douglas E. Hankins and his wife Pam, and Gary W. Hankins and his fiancee' Heather Benjamin all of Quincy; three sisters Penny R. Musolino and her husband Robert of Quincy, Charlotte R. Woosley of Quincy and Diana L. Ogle and her husband Greg of Geneseo, IL; Three uncles Larry Fenton, Jim Fenton, and Richard Fenton and his wife Colleen all of Quincy and one aunt Judy McGlaughlin of Quincy. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Mr. Hankins was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Terrance Hankins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Renner officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Tuesday morning until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Children's Education Fund.
