
CLARA C. BROWN
Mrs. Clara C. Brown, 73, of 611 Country Club Heights, formerly of 537 1/2 Locust, died at 11:45 a.m. Monday (May 23, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.
Born January 24, 1932 in Quincy, Clara was the daughter of Ezra and Emmaline Whittaker Baker. She married Herbert C. Brown on June 2, 1952 in Quincy. He died April 2, 1985.
Clara enjoyed doing puzzle books, crocheting, listening to country music and cooking for the family holidays. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished the time spent with her family.
Surviving are four daughters, Leann Glesner and her husband Dan of Kemp, TX, Vivian Christ and her husband Robert of Quincy, Josie Day and her husband Danny of Ursa and Laretha Benfield and her husband Dwayne of Hickory, NC.; a son, Terry "Bear" Brown and his wife Bonnie of Stillwell; eleven grandchildren, Nicky Hills and her husband Jimmy, Dusty Christ, Missy Martin and her husband LaRue, Joe Brown, Tommy Brown, Rhonda Brown, Brandon Brown, Zachary Brown, Angela Jenkins, Amber Benfield and Timothy Benfield; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Hickerson of Marblehead.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Roger Brown; a daughter, Dixie Brown; two grandchildren, Roger R. Brown and Ashley Benfield and one brother Robert Baker.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
