Mr. Clifford Carpenter, 63, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of Danville, Illinois, died at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (November 30, 2006) in Blessing Hospital.

Born May 11, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois, Clifford was the son of Russell E. and Pearl Tennis Carpenter.

Mr. Carpenter served his country as a Corporal in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Surviving is a brother, Ken Carpenter of Peoria, IL.; a sister, Carol Thayer of Ingleside, IL; a nephew, Daniel Thayer and his wife Lisa of Ingleside, IL.; a great niece, Tiara Thayer of Ingleside, IL. and a great nephew, Issac Thayer of Ingleside, IL.

Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy; and a brother, David Lee Carpenter.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Carpenter. A memorial graveside service will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Oxville Cemetery in Bluffs by the Rev. David Reid.

There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the services.
