DALE LLOYD ROWSEY

Mr. Dale L. Rowsey, 78, of 2132 S. 39th, died at 8:11 p.m. Monday (December 25, 2006) in his home.

Born June 20, 1928 in Rockport, Illinois, Dale was the son of Lloyd and Manilla McGee Rowsey. He married Phyllis N. Chapman on March 22, 1946 in Palmyra, Missouri. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1994.

Mr. Rowsey was a member of Madison Park Christian Church, the West Quincy Gun Club, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #535 and a lifetime member of South Side Boat Club. He enjoyed shooting trap, boating, go carting, woodworking, hunting, doing yard work and loved fishing. Dale was a wonderful cook and gardener and even made his own ammunition and arrows.

He was employed at the International Shoe Factory from 1945 until its closing where he was instrumental in the formation of the credit union and also served as treasurer. He later worked at Moorman Manufacturing for 35 years retiring in 1990.

Surviving is a son, Reggie D. Rowsey and his wife Cindy of Quincy; a daughter, Debbie Rowsey of Quincy; four grandchildren, Ky Patrick Rowsey of Chicago, Taffeney Chryshelle Deusterhaus and her husband Todd of Quincy, Rudi Rowsey and his wife Coleen of Bloomington, IL. and Robin Schrand and her husband Jason of Quincy; five great grandchildren, Jade, Christian, Collin, Jake and Noah; and a special friend, BonnieSpilker of Quincy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Donald and Russell Rowsey in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Keith Ehresman. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Blessing Hospice.
