Mr. Daniel H. Andes, 72, of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, died at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday (March 16, 2005) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born October 28, 1932 in Peoria, Illinois, Mr. Andes was the son of Marshal and Verla Davis Culp.
Mr. Andes served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps and the U. S. Army in Korea and Vietnam. Following his retirement from the military, he worked as a correctional officer for the State of Illinois in Joliet.
Survivors include a son, David Andes of Blythewood, S. C.; three daughters, Desiree Neal and her husband Byron of Elgin, S. C., and Danielle Andes and Geniene Andes both of Blythewood, S. C.; four grandchildren; a brother, John Andes and his wife Joyce of Spring Valley, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Andes was preceded in death by his parents; and a step father, Thomas Andes.
Cremation rites were accorded to Mr. Andes. Graveside memorial services with Military Honors will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in the Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veterans Home. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, 1435 State Street, Quincy, IL. 62301 is in charge of the arrangements.
