
DARWIN J. MALAPITAN
Mr. Darwin J. Malapitan, 31, of the St. Mary's Square in Galesburg, died Friday (July 15, 2005) in Galesburg.
Born August 13, 1973 in the Philippines, Darwin was the son of Joey and Rachel Torres Malapitan.
Darwin was a sweet and loving person who will be remembered for his sense of humor. He enjoyed carrying his books, listening and singing along to music and going on car rides.
Surviving is his mother, Rachel Finton and her husband Timothy of Quincy; his father, Joey Malapitan Sr. of the Philippines; a brother, Joe Malapitan Jr. of Chicago, IL.; five sisters, Roselli Schmitt and her husband Tom of Maumelle, AR., Arjee Wilson and Mia Disselhorst and her husband Scott both of Quincy, JoAnn Kalowski and her husband Paul of Wichita, KS. and Raquel Piazza and her husband Michael of Staten Island, N.Y.; many loving nieces and nephews; and Sally Bowman and the caregivers at St. Mary's Square in Galesburg.
Darwin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Dalisay Torres.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:o0 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Darwin Malapitan Memorial Fund.
