
DONALD L. CALDWELL
Mr. Donald L. Caldwell, 79, of 1404 North 10th, died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday (July 5, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.
Born October 10, 1925 in Pope County, Illinois, Mr. Caldwell was the son of Joseph A. and Claris Caldwell. He married Joanna "Jo" Yardley on June 19, 1976 in Pekin, IL. She survives.
Mr. Caldwell was a member of the Peoria Masonic Lodge, Quincy Consistory, Quincy Shrine Club and the Skeeter Patrol, Ansar Temple of Springfield, and the Oriental Band of Peoria and the Motor Patrol in Peoria.
Mr. Caldwell was employed as a Metallurgist for Catapillar in Peoria for 35 years. He retired in 1983.
Survivors include his wife, Jo: a daughter, Vickey Lee of Sparland, IL.; a step daughter, Rebecca Eaton and her husband Robert of Metamora, IL.; a granddaughter, Tami Adams and her husband Steve of Sparland, IL.; two step grandchildren, Michelle Eaton and Jonathan Eaton both of Metamora, IL.; two great grandchildren, Jason Adams and Ashley Adams both of Sparland, IL.; three sisters, Charlotte Steffen and her husband Frank of Liberty, IL., Shirley Dedert and Phyllis Chapman both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Cremation rites were accorded to Mr. Caldwell. Private services will be in Sunset Cemetery in Quincy.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Childrens Hospital or the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
